CURRENT MINISTRIES
Clothes and Underwear Drive
For the past four years, we have collected gently used and new clothes, and brand-new socks and underwear in various children and youth sizes. We take these items and donate them to children in need. These are children we work with in various ministries like Good News Club, our School Ministry, Village Outreaches and other ministries. Many of the children we work with are overjoyed with getting new underwear of their own and it is surprising to see how many children we encounter that have never had their own brand-new underwear- but are wearing undergarments that have been used by someone else.
Christmas and Easter Feed the Children
Every year we host holiday event within Accra or a surrounding village area with the idea of serving children with a hot meal as well as feeding them the Word of God. We host these events (they are like parties) during the Easter and Christmas seasons. We really have a good time with music and dancing, snacks and drinks, games and competitions like Musical Chairs, a hot meal usually Jollof Rice and Chicken, and of course, we sit down, and we talk about the love of Jesus Christ and Salvation. We can plant so many seeds through this and we often see children and youth come to know Christ. In 2023, our Christmas event fed 247 children and youth within the city if Accra and we were able to lead 18 of these young people to know Christ as their Lord and Savior. At Easter, we served roughly 130 children and youth in a village outside of Accra and saw 11 salvations.
Good News Club
Our Good News Club is much like Sunday School or Children’s church, except we bring church to the children. Currently we have 4 locations where we have Good News Club once a month. We have Praise and Worship time, Bible study, Snacks and other activities, like Sword Drill. We work with children that are disadvantaged and underprivileged for various reasons. We currently serve 380 children ages 2-19. Recently we have begun developing classes for adults in one of the areas where there has been an interest. Over the past 5 years of Good News Club, we have seen many children come to know Christ and are getting to witness these their relationship with the Lord being cultivated.
Reading Club
Our Reading Club is all about encouraging children to be literate and cultivate a love for reading weather they attend school or not. We have 39 members in our reading club. Some members are learning to read while others come to us as a library to check out storybooks and novels to take home and read or to read with us.
Village Outreach
The children living in the villages have less needs and necessities than even those in need living in Accra. We do our best to serve the children in 4 villages on the outskirts of Accra. We bring food, supplies, water, medicines and have even provided mattresses to some of the younger children. We always come with a Bible Story and the love of Christ to share.
Scholarships
Attending school in Ghana is not free, likewise there is no law that says children must attend school. Due to this, many children lack the opportunity to attend school. This lack of education in Ghana is an immense problem and we do all we can to help children attend and parents to understand the importance of allowing their children to attend school instead of working to earn money. For the 2023/2024 academic year, we provided 12 scholarships for primary and secondary students as well as a university scholarship.
Orphan Care
We currently have two orphans in our care and until we can build our orphanage structure, that is all we can take in long-term. As of now, we have two girls, age 13 and 8 that have been with us for about 4 years. They are happily and well-adjusted to living with us, attending school and church and exceling despite the difficulties they have faced. Our prayer is the be able to build so that we can protect and care for more children and orphans in need throughout all of Ghana.
Bible Donations
Bibles are key to helping us spread the Gospel of Christ. We have many sponsors that send Bibles to us so that we can pass them out as we reach others. Over the past year we have donated 60 Bibles to children we work with, adults we encounter and to churches in need.
School Ministry
We currently work in a mission school in leadership roles. We work with children of missionaries, church ministers, children in need on scholarship and children whose families can afford tuition. It is a Christian school where students are taught to live and serve God every day, including in their academics, social life, etc. We have learned many things about running a mission school and the ins and outs of the operation, finances and more that we can one day apply to the foundation’s children’s home and school.
